The Labour Party is the party of equality and seeks to build a society and a world free from all forms of inequality and prejudice.
Here in the Basingstoke Constituency Labour Party we are committed to working towards a fair and just society free from poverty, prejudice and the abuse of power. We fight for justice and equality of opportunity for all.
We stand shoulder to shoulder with all our community regardless of their race, religion, gender or any other label society places upon us.
As Chair of the CLP I am proud to announce that at our All Members Meeting on 12th September 2018 our members unanimously passed a motion denouncing discrimination against our transgender community and recognising the role we as a CLP can play in the fight against this through providing education and support.
We also confirmed our support for Labour Party rules in respect of transgender rights that allow transgender women to be included in all women shortlists.
Basingstoke Labour is fully inclusive and supports Transgender Equality.
We welcome all our members equally and encourage their full participation in the Party.
Our LGBT officer and Woman’s Officers are always on hand to provide help, support and information on how to get involved as is every member of our Executive Committee. Our contact details are on our website.
