Annual Conference

In 2023 the Annual Conference is in Liverpool from Sunday, the 8th, to Wednesday, the 11th of October.

Please submit your nomination to be one of Basingstoke CLPs delegates to the Annual Conference. This year we are entitled to send three delegates: the ordinary delegate, an additional woman delegate, and a youth delegate. The ordinary delegate alternates every year between a woman and a man. As a woman attended last year in this role, anyone can go as the ordinary delegate this year. To stand as a delegate, you must have been an individual member of the Party for at least six months on the 23rd of June, so to be eligible for nomination, delegates must have joined the Labour Party on or before the 22nd of December 2022. Youth delegates can be of any gender but must be under 27 years.

Women’s Conference

The National Annual Women’s Conference (NAWC) for this year will be held on the 6th- 7th of October. Basingstoke CLP is entitled to send two delegates. As the Labour Party has always prided itself in having a diverse membership and it is important that diversity is reflected on the conference floor. CLPs have been encouraged to promote a greater level of representation and participation of under-represented groups.

In particular, delegates should aim to reflect the full diversity of our society in terms of race, sexual orientation, disability and other characteristics. With this in mind, if a second delegate is sent, one delegate space must be reserved for a Disabled, BAME or LGBT+ woman.

A free full-service creche is provided for the women’s conference. As a woman delegate, you can attend as a delegate at both conferences if you wish.

Nominations for both conferences must be received by midnight, the 30th of May, 2023 as we will be selecting delegates at the All Member Meeting on the 31st of May.
