I’m Steve Rolfe, and I’m standing to be your councillor on Thursday May 4th.
I’ve lived in Oakridge for many years and work for the NHS. I am active in Unite, my Trade Union, and am passionate about a fair day’s pay for a fair day’s work.
What the Tories have done to this town in the past 15 years they have been in power has been shocking. The Town Centre is full of empty shop units. Many firms with high-paying jobs have moved away.
The football club has had to vacate the Camrose ground and the council stood meekly by, failing to enforce the covenant.
The Ice Rink, once our pride and joy, is on its last legs, and the local Tories do nothing. Their grand scheme for the West Ham Leisure Park has fallen though.
The problems are piling up, because the Tories don’t know how to deal with them. We do. We built Festival Place and Oakridge Village.
If you want the change Basingstoke needs, vote for me on May 4th: VOTE LABOUR.
