Councillor Carolyn Wooldridge
Carolyn was elected as your councillor in Norden, in the by-election on October 25th, 2018. Carolyn replaces Labour councillor George Hood who retired.
Carolyn wants whats best for Norden, including the Oakridge, South View and Chapel areas. I am very familiar with Norden, and was involved in the regeneration of the ‘Oakridge Village’ as the housing officer for the area. I see engaging with the community and listening to residents as a priority. I’ve been a councillor previously. I did regular surgeries and walkabouts, carried out casework, organised community events. I contributed to and ensured the distribution of regular newsletters. I’ve led successful campaigns to save bus services, to fight overdevelopment, to bring a post office back to the community.
I’m a 50 year old married mum with two grown up children and I’ve lived in Basingstoke for over 25 years. I have worked in frontline housing roles for over 20 years. I’m a volunteer at the Winter Night Shelter for the homeless and also a school governor.
I serve on the Economic, Planning and Housing Committee and the Standards Committee.
